Corey’s Midweek Meadows – 22nd September

Race 1:
Races don’t get much harder to pick than this, with four runners, three of them having their first start and all being from the Grenfell camp. The exposed runner in the field has had limited success from his five starts. LOXTON BALE (4) & KEMPTON BALE (8) are out of Dyna Weslyn who was an absolute superstar in new Zealand while MONTAG BALE (1) is also superbly bred. All look bred to eat up every bit of the 500m.

Selections: 4-8-1-2

Race 2:
BEN MAYO (1) was low-flying last time out recording a sizzling 29.79 and looks drawn to make every post a winner. NIKE APACHE (7) came through the very hot Highway 31 series at Healesville but has had no luck since debut, he should relish the step up to 500m. WEBLEC CRUISER (8) has plenty of talent while CURATOR (4) has an enormous 29.30 PB at Sandown but is yet to find his best form here at The Meadows.

Selections: 1-7-8-4

Race 3:
WESTERN BLAZER (8) will need some luck to cross but did lead from the outset two starts ago at Sandown and faces an easier field here, MARS ROVER (7) has been jumping well and finding the front over the middle distance and can run well if he finds a spot early over the shorter trip. CHILLOUT COOKIE (2) may need to lead to win but with the pace coming from out wide, he may have his chance. GAMBLIN’ WAYS (4) next best.

Selections: 8-7-2-4

Race 4:
MIDNIGHT SNOOZE (6) is royally bred and comes with very good NSW form, if she can bring that here she will be extremely hard to beat. BLAZING TIMES (7) has plenty of improvement to come but is very talented. NINE NINE (3) rarely runs a bad race while MCIVOR JILL (2) goes in exotics.

Selections: 6-3-7-2

Race 5:
SIXTIES ROCKER (1) gets his box, has a good record at this track and should go well fresh off a break. OBERON BALE (5) has been racing well and can keep improving. BLAZING FURY (4) cannot be discounted after recently putting a winning streak together. MY DEWANA PENNY (2) goes into exotics.

Selections: 1-5-4-2

Race 6:
KASEMI (6) is flying as of late, including a dominant 19.04 performance at Healesville recently, back up to the 500m she could find the front and be hard to chase down. MAELYNN BALE (3) is racing very well and will vie for the early lead. ONE NIGHT ONLY (4) is extremely talented. INKA BALE (1) can run well.

Selections: 6-3-4-1

Race 7:
WLADMIR (2) was impressive at Sandown last start and if he can bring that early speed here, he will be very hard to beat. KONTA (4) should appreciate the empty box to her outside and has run well here in the past. EIGHT BALL (6) is supremely talented on his day but would much prefer to be drawn inside. DENZELL BALE (1) appreciates this draw.

Selections: 2-4-6-1

Race 8
The hottest race on the card is this mixed 4/5 600m event. BOUNCE BACK (2) a very talented dog who likes to be drawn inside and is from the flying Geall kennel, FERNANDO FRANK (3) is as consistent as they come while MYSTIFY KICK (8) has been screaming out for this journey, but this is a tough assignment, and he may struggle to cross. REDZIN (4) won well last start and the confidence boost should see him run well again.

Selections: 2-3-8-4

Race 9:
EARTHWORM JIM (7) looks ideally suited at his first go at the ‘500’ and is a very talented conveyance. SLICK SISTER (6) was favourite for the recent Vic Bred series and is super talented but can be a bit tardy early. BALT’S FLYING (2) will need to find the lead to win this but will certainly be in the mix early. URIANA BALE (8) won his maiden well here two back and can continue on with it.

Selections: 7-6-2-8

Race 10:
BLAZER GLORY (2) steps back in trip but he has an abundance of talent. LONELY LISA (4) holds a strong PB here and can win if she gets back to that. MAN OF SUBSTANCE (3) musters will while CABERNET GIRL (7) can surprise.

Selections: 2-4-3-7

Race 11:
A tough race to get a read on but WEBLEC GEM (2) is dropping in class and looks to have the most upside in the field. VERY JIGGLING (4) has been the bridesmaid at her two goes here and wouldn’t shock if she could become the bride today. CRABBY YABBY (6) was luckless last start and could appreciate the extra room with a vacant box 5. BERKEL BOY (8) races well from outside draws.

Selections: 2-4-6-8

Race 12:
SHIVERS (7) will need some luck to cross but if he does, he is a massive winning chance. PUNK LASS ROCKS (1) comes here after running consistently at Cranbourne and enjoys this draw. INGA MIA (8) & DARNUM DOZER (2) go into all exotics.

Selections: 7-1-8-2
