Race 1: 2-1-4-6
A five dog field will greet the starter for this Grade 7 over the 725m. SANDRA’S STICKER (2) has plenty of upside and should have a good grounding for this trip after 3 races over the middle distance leading up. ARBY’S LUCY (1) has the next best upside in the race and is a member of a smart kennel. CAYDEN BALE (4) certainly does not win out of turn but gets a steep class drop from recent racing.
Race 2: 8-3-7-6
A tough race to adjudicate with half of the field being first starters. The dam of DON’T TELL BLUEY (8) is a G2 winner while BILLIE’S GIFT (3) was produced by a G1 winner. FOXTROT TANGO (7) & MY ENVY (6) next best.
Race 3: 2-6-1-3
TARGET MASTER (2) has a sizzling PB – 30.27 – for this Track/Distance and should be going close with even luck. KANJI LENGTH (6) will enjoy the empty box to the inside and EXIT SIGN (1) can run a place.
Race 4: 6-3-1-4
KANJI GIANT (6) goes on top here after impressing at recent outings, INDY GHOST (3) can show the speed necessary to be up near the lead at the first bend. ZIPPY VOLKSWAGON (1) & CALIX BALE (4) are both likely to factor.
Race 5: 2-7-1-8
TRENDING ROOKIE (2) is coming off a sizzling run at Sandown two back and an ultra-impressive run behind Aston Fastnet in the Maturity heats and looks to get a nice sit behind the initial leaders. XAVIEN BALE (7) has a good PB this T/D and should be prominent early. BAHATI BALE (1) is drawn well and TYNSLEE BALE (8) should get a cart across.
Race 6: 2-6-7-1
GYPSY WYONG (2) is a potential star and is facing a severe class drop. AMBITIOUS (6) can lead and is good each way value from MR SPEAKER (7) who was a tough winner at Sandown last time out. REDZIN (1) will need luck but has a big motor.
Race 7: 5-7-2-8
LIGHTS ACTION (5) has broken the 30 second barrier here previously and looks to be back in form. MY DEWANA PENNY (7) has a good record here and after a string of placings can go one better. CODE BLUE SUE (2) can win this but will need a clean getaway to figure in the finish.
Race 8: 2-1-3-4
BLACK HAWK JET (2) is a member of the airborne David Geall kennel and looks well placed at his first crack over the middle distance, INKA BALE (1) is suitably drawn and is a massive winning chance. HUSHING DUSK (3) is only getting better and looks ideally suited to this distance range. ROTHWELL PRINCE (4) is capable.
Race 9: 3-1-7-2
BLACKEST BLACK (3) looks to have ability but will need room to move early. PACIFIC LASS (1) has the class edge on this field but is down in confidence and tends to find bother. MIDORIYAMA (7) has been very impressive over the middle distance of late and with clear running he will factor in the finish.
Race 10: 4-1-2-6
Race 10 sees us with a race devoid of early pace, if GYPSY VISTA (4) can repeat her 30.13 run here a few runs ago that will be good enough to win here. KANJI HEIGHT (1) will get back but is gutsy in the run home. FABRIOLA XIMENEZ (2) has plenty of upside and OZARK BALE (6) rounds out what could be a race dominated by the Dailly kennel.
Race 11: 7-8-1-3
FERNANDO’S QUEST (7) will have to overcome a tricky draw but is a talented dog with plenty of upside. TRENDY UNIVERSE (8) has plenty of talent and has been racing in much more difficult races than this. INDY JUNO (1) should have plenty of room to move early and could lead throughout. NEGASI BALE (3) has had a short let up and could win if right.
Race 12: 1-8-5-7
All eyes are on the return of the G1 Australian Cup placegetter, FERNANDO BLUEY (1), who has an incredible record from the ‘cherry’ – 6 wins from as many starts – if he is anywhere near his best he will be winning this from the very classy ASTON GWEN (8). The best of the rest are MALAYAH BALE (5) & WEBLEC WHIRL (7).
