Wednesday Meadows 7th July – Race by Race preview

Race 1:                                                                                                                                         2-7-1-6
DR. NEEKI (2) is capable of improvement on recent form and with even luck should be too good for this field. QUINCEE BALE (7) has run decent races here in the past and is in with a major chance. DR. MACIE (1) had her sole win from ‘the red’ and could repeat the effort.

Race 2:                                                                                                                                         2-4-6-1
LITTLE YAALA (2) doesn’t win out of turn but has a good record this Track/Distance. ZYLON BALE (6) could cross and lead. CAYDEN BALE (1) rarely wins but can finish in the money. BOWIE (8) next best.

Race 3:                                                                                                                                        5-8-1-4
SUDOKU COBRA (5) has plenty of ability and can lead from the outset and throughout. VARDAN BALE (8) has a good record at the track and the box draw might suit.

Race 4:                                                                                                                                       7-3-6-8
This race looks to have a clear leader, on paper, in BLACK ROBIN (7) who should set up a break over the first two sectionals from the likes of MERLOT (3) & GENTLEMAN THIEF (6).

Race 5:                                                                                                                                        4-7-3-2
The well-related MAJOR SACRIFICE (4) looks a stayer with plenty of promise and with clear air looks to have the talent advantage on this field. NIKEPHOROS (7) should relish the step up to the ‘700’ after a slashing 600m win here recently. MY FATHER’S SON (3) should be strong in the run home and MR SPEAKER (2) is coming off an impressive Sandown win over the 595m.

Race 6:                                                                                                                                      6-1-8-7
Looking for a bit of value in the William McMahon trained HARRIGAN (6) who looks a dog with plenty of upside. MASSIMO (1) is a proven winner from the draw and has a good overall record. DARK COMPASS (8) & DYNAMITE MISS (7) next.

Race 7:                                                                                                                                      3-4-2-8
One of the more exciting prospects in racing, KOBLENZ (3), looks to continue his winning ways. The son of the mighty Up Hill Jill looks to make it 11 wins on the trot and with his sizzling first sectional speed, should be doing so. ANGEL GLOW (4), KNICKS BALE (2) & KINSON BALE (8) all have the potential to break the 30 second barrier in what shapes up to be must watch racing.

Race 8:                                                                                                                                      6-2-4-1
ZACHARY (6) is a youngster with plenty of talent who will look to capitalise on the vacant box to his inside. CARLA VELOSO (2) has been racing well here while MAELYNN BALE (4) & WALDEMAR BALE (1)

Race 9:                                                                                                                                      3-1-6-4
A cracking race greets us for Race 9. PADDY WANTS PATS (3) has improved with each outing at The Meadows and looks one of two main chances alongside INVICTUS RISING (1) who is dynamite from an inside draw. PERSIAN GODDESS (6) was recently a finalist in the G1 Sapphire Crown and shouldn’t be discounted.

Race 10:                                                                                                                                   2-6-4-3
G2 Warrnambool Cup finalist GOT THE TORQUE (2) can dominate this race if he repeats his recent Warragul form. ARIZONA EYES (4) is better suited over further but has a serious motor and with clear air could run serious time. DR MUMMA (6) could lead these.

Race 11:                                                                                                                                  8-4-2-3
TWO PHONES (8) looks to be well drawn out wide and finds a suitable race. SUNTORY LASS (4) has genuine claims. DR. CARMEL (2) & LONELY LISA (3) for the exotics.

Race 12:                                                                                                                                  3-6-7-8
A tough race to end the card. RUFIANO (3) has more upside than this field and with even luck can be winning. PAINT PEELER (6) will be strong in the run home but will need luck. ROCK ON RUNNER (8) & CLEAN SLATE (7) are not without hope.

BEST BET: R4 N7 – Black Robin
VALUE BET: R6 N6 – Harrigan
