New Sponsor for Group 1 Maturity Classic

TayVanThe Melbourne Greyhound Racing Association (MGRA) is delighted to announce that KCR Pet Transport have signed on to sponsor the Group 1 Maturity Classic for the next two years.

MGRA Operations & Sponsorship Manager Rohan Goodwin said the enthusiasm shown by KCR Pet Transport owners Clare & Kade Richards has been a breath of fresh air amongst what have been some challenging months for the business.

‘When you speak to Clare & Kade you can immediately sense how passionate they are about offering the safest travel for your precious dogs and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome their business KCR Pet Transport aboard as sponsor for the Maturity Classic.

Being able to have greyhounds come from all around Australia and New Zealand to compete at The Meadows is what truly makes our racing world-class.

Partnering with a company who is so dedicated to ensuring the safe arrival of these canine athletes feels like the perfect fit.’

Clare grew up showing various breeds of dogs and worked for a number of years in the pet travel industry. Her industry experience coupled with a first-hand understanding of how stressful it can be trusting someone else to look after your beloved dogs made the decision to start up Melbourne-based KCR Pet Transport an easy one.

‘Our dogs are like family members and their safety and comfort are our priority at KCR.

I hadn’t had too much to do with greyhounds in my dog-showing days, but since starting KCR Pet Transport we now regularly have greyhounds in our care and have grown to absolutely love them.

We get a real buzz transporting the best race dogs and always tune in to see how they’ve gone at the track. Much to Kade’s delight the TV is pretty much on Sky Racing every night now!

We were thrilled to follow Ghost’s (Catch The Thief) successful WA campaign after having him travel with us. When we see the dogs competing at their best, we know we’ve done our job.’

The Group 1 KCR Pet Transport Maturity Classic kicks off with heats on Saturday night 18 July, leading into the $100,000-to-the-winner Group 1 Final on Saturday night 25 July.
