Surprise nomination adds excitement to TAB Topgun

Final nominations for the upcoming Group 1 Topgun events closed yesterday, leaving the Topgun Selection Panel with some tough decisions to make.

A total of 17 nominations have been accepted for the Group 1 TAB Topgun (525m) with the final field sure to set the track alight.

The outstanding assembly of nominees include Million Dollar Chase winner GOOD ODDS HARADA, people’s champion FERAL FRANKY and BAROOGA BRETT who has already won two Group 1s at The Meadows.

Adelaide Cup winner HOOKED ON SCOTCH was a surprise nomination after connections initially indicated they may bypass the Group 1 feature. He is guaranteed a start after earning his spot with his stunning Angle Park victory.

That leaves a total of seven spots (plus two reserves) up for grabs.
