Lara trainer Angela Langton will go into Saturday night’s Snow Queen final (525m) with three live chances, including two-time Group 1 runner-up Go Seek Heidi, who has drawn awkwardly in box seven.
Angela’s training duo Jeff Britton will put the polish on Mepunga Maggie (box three), meaning the Lara pair will have half the field vying for the $12,000 winner’s cheque.
The Snow Queen is a race for female chasers and their female handlers, and after just two years already boasts an honour roll that includes Group 1 herione Up Hill Jill and current star Neo Cleo.
Valencia Creek trainer Jennifer Gieschen has qualified two chasers for the final, including heat winners Courting (box six) and Valencia Gem (box one).
This year’s event looks to be the most open in the race’s short history, with The Watchdog marking five of the eight runners under double-figure odds.
The Snow Queen isn’t the only feature event on Saturday’s Girls Night Out program, with the $18,000 GRV Vic Bred Maiden Final and the Bendigo To The Meadows Final fantastic support acts on the night.
Courting wins a heat of this year’s Snow Queen over Origami Angel
