In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, The Meadows’ Feikuai Greyhounds Silver Chief meeting set down for this Saturday has been brought forward to Friday night, January 5.
The Meadows Manager Marg Long said the decision came about after the expected extreme temperatures forecast on Saturday.
“The GRV Hot Weather Policy states that if the temperature reaches 38 degrees three hours before the commencement of a meeting, that meeting will be abandoned. To avoid this – especially considering the huge night of racing – a decision has been made to move the program to the Friday night.”
“We understand the inconvenience this causes, but the safety and welfare of greyhounds and participants must always be paramount.”
The Family themed program with loads of entertainment for the kids will be incorporated into the newly scheduled Friday night timeslot. Gates open at 6pm. Race 1 will run shortly after 7pm.
