Pearcedale owner, trainer and breeder David Crawford is hoping for two feature wins in as many days as his chaser He Shall Johnny lines up in the Group Two Great Chase Grand Final at The Meadows this afternoon, following litter brother He Shall Fred’s victory in the GRV VIC Bred Series final at Warragul last night.
He Shall Fred was more than impressive in his feature win at Warragul, missing the start but storming home to win in a very close finish which had less than a length between first, second and third.
The brothers out of Talk’s Cheap and She Shall had both drawn box one in their respective feature races which Crawford joked he copped a bit of a ribbing over.
Crawford told Warragul Greyhound Racing Club Manager Adrian Scott (VIDEO INTERVIEW) that He Shall Johhny has a place chance at best in today’s Great Chase Grand Final.
“Its a pretty hard field but I am hoping that he can win because it is worth a fair bit of money too.”
The TAB Great Chase is race number six on this afternoons program and is set to jump at 1.40pm.
“They are out of a greyhound called Shall She who was very good stayer and she has thrown some really nice dogs; Shall She Rock who was a very good stayer three or four years ago also held the track record at Warragul – its a good breed,” Crawford said.
