Up Hill Jill claims inaugural Snow Queen

Gun sprinter Up Hill Jill again underlined her quality with a fantastic win in the inaugural Damsels Dash Snow Queen at The Meadows on Saturday night.

The daughter and Premier Fantasy and Where’s Demonica jumped cleanly from box six, giving nothing else a chance as she strode away to score in a new PB of 29.99 over the 525-metre trip.

The victory was the David Geall-trained sprinter’s 24th from 43 starts, pushing her prizemoney past $263,000 in the process.

The black chaser is a Group 2 winner, taking out last year’s Laurels final, and she has also placed three times at Group 1 level, highlighting her consistency at the highest level.

The Girls Night Out program at The Meadows was again a huge success, with hundreds filling the upstairs dining room to enjoy fantastic entertainment, prizes and dancing. The club also donated $10,000 to the Look Good Feel Better Foundation – a group dedicated to teaching cancer patients how to manage the appearance-related side-effects caused by cancer treatment.
