Stars come out to play

Group 1 Melbourne Cup winner Ando’s Mac (pictured) and Group 2 Launching Pad winner Suffragette highlight a top night of racing at The Meadows on Saturday night.

The two Group-winning chasers will line up in Grade 5 heats over 525 metres, with the pair combining for prizemoney almost reaching $800,000.

Ando’s Mac will start from box seven in race four – his first run since finishing last at Wentworth around a month ago. The son of El Grand Senor and Brook’s Doll is yet to show his best at The Meadows, placing once from five starts, but he will be incredibly hard to neat back to a Grade 5 class.

Suffragette returns to The Meadows for the first time in seven months, debuting at the track back in October, winning by over 12 lengths in 30.26. The daughter of SH Avatar and Ebby Miss will start from box six on Saturday, the same draw she exited when winning April’s Launching Pad.

Speed freak Zinzan Brooke (heat four, box eight) will step out for his first race start at The Meadows, visiting the Broadmeadows circuit in great form, winning four of his last five starts, including sub 25-second runs at Shepparton and Warrnambool.

The night will also see a quality Damsels Dash final, including impressive youngster Chezzy Allen, and a quality Free For All that sees the in-form Shima Sing take on three-time Group 1 finalist Matt Machine.
