Dominant Topcat Video win for Burn One Down

Freakish stayer Burn One Down won the first Group race of his career with a sensational nine-length win in the Group 3 Topcat Video Stayers Cup at The Meadows on Saturday night.
The son of Buck Fever and Fancy Jaffa began well off box four and after an early bump, found himself in third position with a lap to run. Showcasing his lethal mix of speed and strength, the black chaser charged to the front down the back straight, and the race was a formality from there, striding to a brilliant 42.33 win over the 725-metre journey.

It was his 11th win from 22 starts, pushing his prizemoney to over $91,000.

The win also catapulted Burn One Down into contention for October 24′s Group 1 Stayers Topgun at the Broadmeadows circuit.
It was a red-letter night for Pearcedale trainer Jason Thomspon, who took out the Group 2 Shepparton Cup with the brilliant Aston Bolero.
