The Meadows Preview: Feature Racing to the Xtreme

The first of 12 is set to bounce at The Meadows this Saturday night at 7.15pm. Feature finals are clearly the order of the night with five graded and special event finals.

In the second race of the night we see the identical field to what competed in the heat at Geelong for this event, the 725m Geelong to City staying final. With $11,500 up for grabs to the winner it’s set to be a stirring battle. I thought the only heat was an extremely rough race (Replay) and I’ll be expecting Reichbach and Bells Are Ringin to fight the race out once again as they did last Friday.

As the races progress we look set to enjoy some keenly contested fifth grade finals. The stayers clash once again in the sixth race on the program and it’s hard to go past It’s A Plane after he annihilated his rivals running a slashing 42.36 in his heat victory (Replay).

Xtreme Knocka appears the best bet of the night after an enormous effort when placed in the Cup night middle distance listed event last weekend. With a huge drop in class, the Jason Thompson prepared star should make a mess of the mixed four and five field and he looks a perfect anchor for the final leg of the Quaddie (Replay).

Come On Fantasy drops back in class and distance after briefly setting the tempo in the Group 1 Bold Trease last outing. If she can reproduce the pace she has been showing lately then she will no doubt be the one to beat in the ninth.

The last few races appear pretty tough to sort out but if you’re searching for a get out then I suggest you place a small each way punt on Benta Bale in race eleven. She looks set to enjoy the rise in trip and she’ll hopefully be sending us punters home on a winning note!

Good luck and happy punting folks!

WATCH: Xtreme Knocka (7) looks primed to win at The Meadows on Saturday night based on this smart placing at in the Group Listed Cup Night Middle Distance (595m) at Sandown Park.
