The Northcorp Boulevard venue of The Meadows lights up with 12 races on Saturday night. Racing is set to commence at 7.18pm with a restricted win final from heats ran last Wednesday.
My Silver Chisel (pictured) has drawn perfectly in box one after setting the fastest heat time of 30.09, so obviously he’s the one to beat in the opener (Replay).
American Monster has been so very well placed by Andrew Paraskevas, and the son of Knocka Norris looks set to win another rich final at The Meadows. With the aid of the inside and the ability to run fast sections, I think he will prove way too good for his rivals.
Dublin Bull appears the one to overcome in the stayers edition of the Ballarat to Geelong, and from the centre pin I’ll be expecting him to repeat the dose of his last performance which had him defeating Maverick Blondie (Replay).

Throughout the 12 race card we can expect some exciting races with plenty of evenly match fields. In the fast class race of the night Our Zayney Nash appears well suited from the fence. In a race without a huge amount of early speed, I’ll be banking on the Kelly Bravo trained brother of Kayda Shae to rail up into a lovely position early which should have him going very close to winning.
The lucky last is set to run at 11.07pm and if you’re looking for a get-out, Charm Again could be the way to go. After a solid placing behind a smart chaser at her last outing (Replay) she should appreciate the lack of genuine early pace in this race.
Hopefully I’ve steered you into a few winners for what looks a good card of metro racing this Saturday night.
Watch: American Monster (4) makes it eight wins from 12 starts with a narrow come-from-behind heat victory at Ballarat last start.
