The Meadows on Saturday conducts a 12 race program to kick start what will be a mammoth long weekend for the club.
The opener has the stayers clashing in the 725m handicap event and Lithgow Panther (pictured) comes into the race with a terrific formalise after placing in the Group 2 Topgun last week behind Sweet It Is (Replay). I’ll be expecting the panther to run a massive race with Callum’s Mum and Panda Bale the main dangers.
A smart field of girls compete in the third race of the night which is the Bendigo to The Meadows Damsels Dash final. Sacramento Sal has been in top form and after her smart 28.09 heat win (Replay) and she’ll be the one to beat with the three greyhounds on her inside the expected dangers.
The Warrnambool to the City stayers final looks set for Dark Obsession to continue his winning ways to four straight from the inside draw. He impressed with a smart heat win (Replay) and there’s no doubting his ability to rail, so with that in mind I think he will use box one to full advantage to post another victory and pick up the $11,500 first prize money.
All Over from box one in the Warrnambool to the City sprint final looks the goods to continue what should be a good night for team Sharp. I thought his run in the heat was outstanding despite copping a little prat as he was passed early (Replay). The son of Cosmic Chief then picked up and closed to run a gutsy second and with a clear run initially, I think he can get the job done here.
Late in the night I think Captivating can win to hopefully send punters out in front in the ninth event, so good luck and happy punting!
Watch: All Over (8) ensured his heat was just that with a dominant performance at Warrnambool.
