Metro racing returns to The Meadows this Saturday night and despite a lot of talent contesting country cup heats and finals over the weekend, the program still looks to have great depth.
BEKS kicks off the night as the one to beat in the first race once again and he looks well graded off the second row of the handicapped field. The Pat Bouchier-trained stayer should settle midfield and from there I’d be expecting he’ll prove too classy.
The third race on the card is the Grade 5 Final from heats conducted ten days earlier at the midweek Meadows meeting. I expect ROCKA HULA BABY to win with the aid of the inside box after she impressed with a slick 30.018 secs heat win.

I found the fifth race of the night to be an interesting affair with a stack of pace in box two in the form of WHITE SPYRO. I’m expecting the check to lead but there are question marks as to whether she can run a strong 500m so I’ll be looking for either DYNA CHASER or QUANTUM BALE to trail through early and pounce for victory up the home straight.
In the latter part of the night I’m keen on the chances of SIR TEX and MASTER TRON who will both require luck from their awkward draws. Despite the awkward alleys I think they are the class runners and should both go close to winning.
That wraps up the preview for The Meadows this weekend. Good luck and happy punting!
