Punters’ Premonition

As Melbournians enjoyed a race glimpse of the lunar eclipse that took place on Saturday night, it was ironic that a promising greyhound named Lunar Eclipse won a race at The Meadows in the midst of the unique event.

It appeared punters were aware of the omen too, backing the Cameron Bahen-trained greyhound into $2.20 favourtism, and he didn’t let them down, winning by a whopping nine lengths in the exceptionally quick time of 29.571sec.

Saturday night was the last total lunar eclipse or blood moon to be seen in Australia for three years.
