Dyna Kayla crowned 2014 Meadows GOTY


Versatile chaser Dyna Kayla has been crowned the 2014 Meadows Greyhound of the Year with wins over all three distances at the Broadmeadows circuit.

The daughter of Surf Lorian and Amity Bale won six times and placed in another four at The Meadows in 2014, including impressive wins over 525 metres in 29.96, 600 metres in 34.24 and an a PB of 42.63 over the 725-metre journey.

The blue chaser also ran second in two Group 1 events during 2014, placing behind Cheetah Zorro in the Zoom Top and featuring as a runner up behind Destini Fireball in the Superstayers final.

Group 1 Maturity winner Mepunga Hayley finished second under the GOTY points system, while Group 1 Hume Cup winner My Bro Fabio was third.

The Meadows GOTY award is based on a points system. Four points are awarded to a greyhound that wins
a regular race at the track on a Saturday night, 10 points are given for a Group 3 win, 12 points for a Group 2 victory and 16 points for Group 1 success. Points are also handed out for placegetters across all forms of racing.
