Recent Geelong Cup winner Luca Neveelk has drawn favourably in box one for Monday night’s $35,000 Group 3 Silver Bullet at The Meadows.
Amazingly, the son of Talk’s Cheap and It’s A Neveelk has won 21 of his 25 starts, and will be looking to add a second Group victory in the space of three weeks after his stirring Geelong Cup victory on October 17.
The star chaser has been quoted as a $1.60 favourite, but he will face his toughest test yet with a quality field assembled for the black-type sprint event.
Buckle Up Mason (box two) has won 14 races at The Meadows – more than any greyhound currently racing in the country, and possesses enough early speed to vie for the early lead.
The Robert Britton-trained Farmor Las Vegas (box five) will be looking to become the only greyhound to win back-to-back Silver Bullets after his sensational 29.71 victory 12 months ago.
The race is capped off with Group 1 winners Marcus Joe and Keybow. Marcus Joe (box seven) took out the 2013 Maturity final, while Keybow (box eight) has a slashing 29.58PB at The Meadows off his draw tonight.
Collectively, the eight finalists have won a prizemoney total of over $1.3 million in prizemoney.
The Silver Bullet is one of two Group finals on Monday night, which will also see the running of the $108,000 Group 1 Hume Cup.
